Tauchplätze
Akoteu
is a Sea Mount that has good fish life on the seaward
face and nice coral on the top. Chances are reasonably
good for encountering pelagic species.
Arch
of Ofolanga –
Underwater coral archway leading to a tunnel system
that opens into a tiered cave chamber. This is a deep
dive going to thirty meters and suited to more experienced
divers.
Atlantis
is a massive shoaling reef with steep drop offs and
impressive pinnacles. This site boasts amazing hard
coral cover in every shape and form and delicate soft
corals in places.
Bennies
Place is a Sandy
channel with coral heads running along the sides and
dispersed in the middle. A shallow, pleasant dive
that’s very good for spotting Stingrays.
The Bird
Cage is a shallow
fringing reef system with winding swim throughs, sandy
expanses and many dispersed coral heads to explore.
Christmas
Reef is an off
shore Sea Mountain with abundant fish life and an
extensive healthy hard coral garden.
The Corner
is a fringing reef system that drops away quickly
into the depths, prevalent currents mean larger pelagic
can be spotted here. There are nice shallow swim throughs
towards the end of the dive.
Eden
Rock drops off
the side of Mounga’one island before rising
again to within twenty meters of the surface. A sheer
wall and schooling fish highlight this dive.
Fale
Anga is a large
group of off shore Sea Mounts with great overhangs
and a large variety of fish species.
Fantasia
is a group of sea pinnacles with deeper bommies off
the main reef. This site has an awe striking overhang,
literally hundreds of Gorgonian Fans and a captivating
wall of hanging soft corals. Brian’s favourite.
Garden
Wall is a Sea
Mountain with a swim through that leads to a nice
wall protecting a beautiful coral garden. A great
critter dive!
Giants
Causeway features
deep channels between large spits of coral covered
reef. A splendid mountain of Acropora digitata and
larger pelagic species may be seen here.
Goaties
is a fringing reef system with shallow walls, some
tight swim throughs and big coral bommies to explore
on the sea ward side.
The Green
Cave is a shallow fringing reef system with
intricate swim throughs and a spooky cauldron. The
outer reef bommies are great for exploration.
The Green
Wall is a sheer drop to over one hundred meters
with great coral and good fish life, the need for
conservative air consumption make this dive suitable
for more experienced divers.
Ha’ano
Tunnels is a
fringing reef system with a small tunnel and nice
swimthroughs. Reef topography is the focus on this
dive.
Hot
Spring Cave is
a huge cavern underneath an Island that has a thermal
vent in a small cave to the rear. This is a deeper
dive requiring conservative air consumption so suited
to experienced divers.
J-Caves
is a fringing reef system with a series of shallow
interconnecting tunnels. The outer reef bommies have
good coral on the top, reef topography is the focus
of this dive.
Lafa
Lafa is an off
shore sea mount with great hard coral cover on the
West face where it drops off to over thirty meters.
Fish life here is usually abundant and active.
The Mad
House consists of two pinnacles surrounded
by extensive coral banks, gorgonian fans can be seen
on the deeper slopes. This dive is suitable for all
levels of experience.
Magic
Reef is a series
of Sea Pinnacles with active fish life and truly excellent
coral. Larger animals are often encountered here.
Oak
Station is a
shallow sandy dive with dispersed coral heads to explore
at a leisurely pace. A cleaning station may be visited
on this dive.
The Sisters
are two pinnacles that drop away to over sixty meters,
beautiful coral crowns them both and sheer drops can
be found on the West face.
Soft Rock is a group
of two off shore sea mounts, both having good coral
cover and one has a nice tight overhang for the more
daring.
Unbelieveareef
is a group of sea mounts featuring deep channels,
good coral cover and plentiful fish life including
pelagics.
