Kayaking in
Ha'apai
The
close proximity of the main islands in the Northern
Ha’apai group presents an ideal opportunity
for exploration by kayak. Hugging the coast
you can paddle south from Lifuka to Uoleva,
Tatafa and even as far as Uiha or you may travel
north along Foa, to Nukunamo and then on to
Ha’ano.
The
kayaks (considerably more comfortable than the
local version shown above) are an excellent
option for exploring outer reef systems on your
own schedule and offer access to secluded beaches
and private islands – it’s all waiting
just a little bit down the coast.
Sit-on
fiberglass kayaks
Our fiberglass kayaks are surf ski style and
suitable for calm seas, short trips and day
paddling. A small day pack and snorkeling gear
can be lashed to the front and back. The boats
do not possess storage areas for camping equipment
etc. and we do not recommend them for lengthy
open water crossings.

Necky "Kyook"
sea kayak
This kayak is perfect for the beginner/intermediate
paddler. Measuring 4.4m long and 60cm at the
beam, the boat is very stable, quick and responsive.
With the attached rudder you have full control
for longer trips. Hatches, bulkheads and a 136kg
weight capacity allow plenty of room for gear
and the compartments stay very dry at sea. To
compliment the boat and for those wishing to
undertake a multi-day excursion we have full
sets of camping gear available.
