The Fins 'n' Flukes beach houses are located in a lush tropical garden overlooking the white sandy beach at the former Niua'Kalo Beach Hotel on Lifuka Island, halfway between the airport and Pangai. Despite our proximity to town we can offer the tranquility you expect from a beach holiday, a clean beach with a great snorkeling reef on your doorstep and lots of wildlife to be discovered. Our beach houses are perfect for those wishing to stay on the beach at a reasonable price without having to travel to a different island.
Our five bungalows are laid out with either two double rooms or four single rooms per house. Double rooms have private bathrooms, the single rooms share a separate shower and toilet within a bungalow. Each house has a garden-view veranda and direct access to the beach.
All rooms are fully insect screened and furnished with comfy beds (queen size in double rooms), closets, electrical fans, power points, fresh linen and towels. Currently the showers in the houses have cold water only, but there is a communal hot shower in the main building should you require it. Continental breakfast, cold drinking water and Wi-Fi access are included in the room price. We offer daily housekeeping. For prices, please refer to the "Rates" page.
The main building
Here you will find the dive base and office as well as the oceanview dining area. Our beachfront veranda is perfect for watching Ha'apai's stunning sunsets and catch up with fellow travellers.
We have a small library with English and German books and magazines, a variety of games and lots of informational material on diving, the whales and Tonga. If you'd like to watch a movie on your laptop you can borrow from our DVD collection.
Besides diving, whale watching and snorkel trips, there is plenty to do to keep you entertained. We've got bikes, kayaks and snorkeling gear for hire which allow you to explore Ha'apai above and underwater on your own terms. Please refer to the "Activities" page for more information.
If you just wish to spend a relaxed day at the beach, swing yourself into one of the hammocks to enjoy that good book or treat yourself to a fresh green coconut.
